Is the Aravis Library sufficient by itself?

Or do I need to install the usb3vision driver or, if on linux, the kernel module?

EDIT: I am using Imaging Source USB3 Vision cameras. At present, in the DMM-37U family.

For the camera you have aravis itself is sufficient.
You may have to enable usb support, which requires libusb.

The camera also has v4l2 so using that might be an alternative.
Aravis has experimental v4l2 and gentl implementation that might be worth checking out.
I have not worked with them yet, so I cannot comment on their reliability.
For the gentl implementation you would need the TIS u3v gentl provider.
